This Privacy Policy explains how SchooWare ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects information about users of our school management platform and our website at schooware.com (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described below.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

SchooWare is a school management platform used by school administrators, teachers, parents and students. This policy applies to all users of the Service, regardless of role.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, role (administrator, teacher, parent, student) and the school you belong to.
• School records: information your school enters into the Service such as student profiles, attendance, results, fees and communications. This is owned by the school and processed by us on the school's behalf.
• Authentication data: credentials you use to sign in (passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text). If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, see Section 3.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and basic usage logs collected automatically to help us secure and improve the Service.

3. Sign-In with Google

If you choose to sign in with Google, we request only the basic profile scopes provided by Google:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your profile picture (if available)

We use this information solely to create or authenticate your SchooWare account and to display your identity within the Service. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Contacts or any other Google service. We do not sell or share Google user data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. How We Use Information

• To provide, operate and maintain the Service.
• To authenticate users and prevent unauthorized access.
• To communicate with you about your account, support requests and service notices.
• To improve the Service, troubleshoot issues and maintain security.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:

• With your school: data you enter through your account is visible to authorized users at your school as needed to operate the Service.
• With service providers: hosting, email delivery, error logging and similar vendors who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• For legal reasons: when required to comply with law, court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of users or the public.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and school data for as long as your school maintains an active subscription with SchooWare, and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal and operational obligations. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time as described in Section 8.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and routine backups. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work to protect your information appropriately.

8. Your Rights and Choices

• You may access and update your account information from within the Service.
• You may revoke SchooWare's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• You may request deletion of your personal information by emailing us at the address in Section 12. Where data is held on behalf of your school, we will coordinate the request with your school administrator.

9. Children's Privacy

SchooWare is used in schools where students may be minors. Student data is collected and managed by the school, which acts as the data controller for that information. We process student data only as directed by the school and do not use it for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to operating the Service.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure the Service and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect Service functionality.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
