How to request deletion
Accounts on SchooWare are created by schools, and you ask for yours to be deleted inside the app:
- On the phone app — open Settings, then Account, then Delete account.
- On the website app — open Account Settings, the Security tab, then Delete account.
Read what will be removed and what the school keeps, then confirm with your password. You get a reference number (for example DR-1042) and the date the school has to answer by.
- Your login is switched off at once. You are signed out and cannot sign in again unless the school declines.
- The school decides. Its registrar or owner either approves or declines your request.
- If they approve, your personal details are removed (below) and the school keeps only the records it must keep, attached to an anonymous record.
- If they decline, you are told why by email and your login is switched back on.
- If the school does not answer within 30 days, your account simply stays switched off.
If you cannot sign in to the app, email [email protected] with the school name and the account email or phone number. We will pass the request to the school. We aim to respond within 30 days.
What is removed if the school approves
- your name;
- your email, phone number and address;
- your photo;
- your face-recognition data;
- the links between you and your children or parents.
Your login stays switched off. The email address becomes an unusable placeholder, so signing in with Google no longer finds your account.
What the school keeps
Some records must be kept for as long as the school or the law requires. They stay, attached to an anonymous record:
- results and report cards;
- invoices, receipts and wallet history;
- attendance and other school records;
- the audit trail (who changed what, when and from where).
Backups roll off after 7 days as part of the normal backup cycle.
Money in a wallet
If the account has a wallet with money in it, the school pays the balance out first — a request is not approved while money is still in the wallet.
